{Adult} Cherry Limeade

{Adult} Cherry Limeade- {i love} my disorganized life
I’ve really been into drinks lately. I suppose that must be due to the change in weather. When things begin to heat up, I automatically start thinking of ways to cool down. In the form of drinks, naturally.

One of my favorite summertime drinks is one that I get at my local Sonic Burger. The cherry limeade. I just think about it and my mouth starts to water. I discovered this magical beverage when our youngest daughter, Corrie, was in kindergarten. I would pack Jr {just 4 months old at the time} in his car seat and we would pick her up from school.

Since the older kids still had a few hours of school left, Corrie and I would head off to Sonic for some chicken tenders and a cherry limeade. It was our secret bonding time together. Yes, a secret. As in, we didn’t tell the other kids about it, because there would be fits of envy and jealousy all around. Not to mention the ‘mommy guilt’ that would most certainly come into play. Trust me, when you have five children, some things just have to remain a secret.

Corrie is 16 now, and at 11, my little Jr isn’t so little anymore. We still go to Sonic every once in a while, but mostly for ice cream . But I still love a good cherry limeade. So much, in fact, that I started making my own. Only, the ones I make are just for the adults.

This is seriously the perfect pool-side drink. And it tastes just like the cherry limeade from Sonic. Only better, because there’s vodka in it.

I've never had Sonic….but considering they don't spike their drinks, I don't need to go. I'll just make this instead 🙂

I used to order these at the bar my ex and I used to go to to play pool. One thing I always asked for them to add? Abt a shot of maraschino juice or grenadine if they were out of the juice! Sweetened it up just enough (I made mine with diet). Always has been one of my faves!
