** This is to be delivered late-night on the 23rd so that they wake up to it on Christmas Eve. Then, that evening, between 6-7 pm {or whatever time is convenient for your family, and you know they will be home} you will take a plate of cookies/goodies to them. But instead of leaving them at the door, you will ring the bell and sing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” when they answer. This, of course, will reveal you are the ‘Secret Santa’ who has been leaving all the goodies!**

When I saw this bag of cherry chips {I know, right?!} I knew I wanted to use them somehow. But I wasn’t sure exactly what to do. After thinking about it for a while, I made my decision.
And then I dropped the ball, and had to go with something easier. So, after taking inventory of my supplies {and finding someone had gotten into them} I made my {second} decision.
Cherry Chocolate Holiday Bark. Easy. Tasty. Perfect.

  • GREEN chips from Nestle Holiday Baking Chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350º
  2. Line 9 x 13 baking pan with parchment paper {Be sure not to skip this step, or you will have issues with getting the bark out of the pan. {Not that I know any thing about that}
  3. Spread chocolate chips and cherry chips, spreading each layer evenly in pan
  4. Sprinkle with green chips
  5. Bake in oven for about 7 min {until chips are nice and shiny, they will still hold their shape}
  6. Turn oven off and bake for additional 3 min
  7. With a flat spreader knife {butter knife is fine}, spread chips so that they lose their form. {the green chips will not melt completely}
  8. Swirl with a toothpick for a nice design.
  9. Cool in refrigerator until set {for a quick set, put in freezer for 10-15 min}
